Test your SEO title and meta description directly in your browser. The search result preview shows how your snippet might look on desktop and mobile. Character and pixel counters help you write it.

This is a simulation, not a definitive Google view. Google may shorten or replace titles and descriptions depending on the query, device and page content. Character and pixel counts are guidelines, not ranking assessments. Repeated spaces and line breaks are normalised to single spaces for preview, counting and export.
Use HTML meta tags
In WordPress, enter the title and description in the designated SEO fields. Do not paste this code into a content block or duplicate existing tags.
Calculations run locally in your browser. Your inputs are neither transmitted nor stored.
How long should titles and descriptions be?
As an editorial guideline, aim for around 50–60 characters for the title and 140–160 for the meta description. Also try a shorter version of around 120 characters for mobile. These are not fixed Google requirements. A short, relevant message can be more useful than a longer text that adds little.
Google does not specify a fixed maximum character count for titles or meta descriptions. Display depends on factors including device width, the search query and layout. Wide letters take more space than narrow ones, so this tool measures text width and simulates line breaks. Even a suitable pixel count does not guarantee that Google will display your text in full or unchanged.
How to write a helpful snippet
- Write a unique, specific title for each page that reflects its actual content.
- State the topic and benefit early. Use relevant terms naturally and avoid repeating keywords.
- Explain what visitors will find on the page in the meta description. Promise only what the page delivers.
- Compare both views. The length check assesses presentation, not your page’s quality or ranking.
